SCORE oversees the longest-running free Sports Injuries Clinic in the country. Held every Saturday morning, this diagnostic Clinic is manned by our Sports Medicine Fellows. All patients with sports related injuries are welcome. The Fellows perform a physical exam and, if necessary, have x-rays taken to diagnose the patient’s problem at no cost.
SCORE also provides research services to the public via phone or internet. Questions addressed to the email address on the SCOI website go directly to SCORE, and are either answered by a staff member or referred to one of the physicians for more medically related inquiries. In addition, the staff of SCORE answer dozens of phone calls from the public each week, addressing issues such as locating an orthopedic surgeon in a particular area, assisting with school projects, explaining new procedures or devices, and helping to decide which of the SCOI physicians would be best suited to the caller’s problem.
